Lake Kayak and Picnic|
- 2011 Spring is here! This year we will
be meeting at White Rock lake on Wednsday evenings for Kayaking and
pot-luck picnic. Kayaks, lifejackes, paddles are provided, you do not need any
experience to enjoy paddling on White Rock lake. See our link above for
details. White Rock Kayaking will start after daylight saving time change this
Below I will be adding feedback from members.
wanted to personally thank you for allowing me to use your kayak last night. I
had a awesome time! This is the first time I have been and everyone was amazing.
Way way more than what I had expected! Thank you again! And I will see you next
I am so glad I found this group! We've been looking
for an outdoor group that was gay friendly for quite some time. We were
both a bit nervous the first time we came out to White Rock Lake to kayak, but
are so glad we did! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, we felt right
at home. Since we started coming out to kayak last fall, we've gone on a
kayak/camping trip with the group on the Brazos River, and had such a great
time. It's so nice to finally find a group of "like minded" people who are
interested in outdoor activities, and that have no ulterior motives. We
enjoyed ourselves so much last fall, we've been almost counting the days until
spring comes when we can start kayaking, camping, hiking, and backpacking
again. Thank you so much for putting this group together. We've told
many of our friends about it, and you should have some new members this
I joined about
this time last year and have just loved this group. I had never been kayaking
and had not camped since I was a kid. I was healthy, but not particularly
active. In the last year I've camped and kayaked a ton, hiked and taken up road
biking, all due to new friends I've met through this club. There is always
something going on and everyone is invited, but never any pressure to
participate. That's important cuz I have kids so I need to be very flexible.
You'll find that most of the team participates in other activities (like the
road biking) and have other circles of friends, so you'll get invited to join
other groups, go to parties etc.
And all the folks are very friendly, not
"clickish", different ages, races, backgrounds, men and women. You just do what
you like, bring what you can and everyone pitches in so we all have a great
Plus Michael is a doll and keeps us all in touch.
Hope that info
helps. See you soon!
